How does it work? We cook bone broth from scratch every day in our restaurant kitchens and deliver it straight to your home. When you receive your broth it can go straight into your refrigerator, freezer or into a pot on your stove. Just heat and enjoy!
How does it arrive? Your broth will arrive in an insulated box containing the glass jars. These will arrive cold, and may even be fully or partially frozen. Either way you can put them in the refrigerator or freezer, or heat up in a pot on the stove top to be enjoyed right away. Hot sauce is shelf stable and can stay on your shelf.
How long does it last? If you keep your broth in the freezer it will last at least 6 months. If you keep it in the refrigerator, it will last at least 6 days.
What if I won't be home when the delivery arrives? Not a problem! We ship in insulated boxes with ice packs so that the broth stays cold during transit and for up to 12 hours after arrival!
What if the broth is partially or fully defrosted? Can I refreeze it? Yes you can refreeze broth, even if it is partially or fully defrosted. If your broth is not cold when it arrives please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
But I thought you're not supposed to refreeze meat? According to the USDA: "Food thawed in the refrigerator is safe to refreeze without cooking, although there may be a loss of quality due to the moisture lost through thawing. After cooking, foods that were previously frozen are safe to refreeze. If previously cooked foods are thawed in the refrigerator, you may refreeze the unused portion. Freeze leftovers within 3-4 days. Do not refreeze any foods left outside the refrigerator longer than 2 hours; 1 hour in temperatures above 90 °F. If you purchase previously frozen meat, poultry, or fish at a retail store, you can refreeze if it has been handled safely."
While meat products, such as steak or chicken breast may lose moisture in the process of re-freezing, a liquid such as bone broth has no risk of losing moisture. If your broth arrives thawed you may safely re-freeze it, without any loss in quality. However, if your broth arrives and it is not cold, please contact us directly at email@example.com.
